This experience has and is still helping shape me into someone I can be proud of. There is a fair amount of things that go in to building your characters that can seem overwhelming but ask some questions and in time you'll see most of it fits together pretty well actually.It has been nearly 3 years since I launched DissidiaDB, and if not for what this game embodies, and if for not for the mind-blowing community support, my contribution would have been short-lived. I also strongly recommend discord server. I personally feel the JP version is quite a bit superior, but that's good news because Global server will be even better when it gets to that point. Also, the power creep well become less pronounced in the future (can see this on the JP server) And unlike most gachas characters get reworks and become relevant again (with a couple of exceptions. Power creep is real, but its also quite manageable with the currency given. And the unique aspects of the dissidia combat sytem (brave, breaks) add another layer of depth to things. But you need to balance your uses and often the skills interact with each other (a basic case is using one of your weapon skills may make your 'HP' skill into 'HP+). Essentially you get 4 base skills, 5 with 'Ex' weapon. There is still a lot of appeal for non FF fansĮvery once in a while the devs screw up (recent issue with 'cursed 6' artifacts) but those missteps are few and far between.Ĭombat is very good, and as time goes in the character 'kits' get more and more interesting. It's reputation as F2P friendly is well deserved, and will get even more F2P friendly as time goes on. That said, it also shows far more respect for the player than almost every other gacha out there. It shows a great deal of respect for the source content. One of the things the game does well is fan service (not the lewd kind) of seeing characters from different games and even different times within the same game interact with each other. The other 10% of the content are EX/Cosmos quests that do require your best teams, can't goof around in those, but there's videos of people clearing them with "favorites" or "thematic" teams.

I've also heard the EX+ upgrade (coming around december) makes most EX+ units viable, there are a couple stronger ones, but you can pretty much clear maybe 90% of the game content with any unit you like, including co-ops that take the most of your game time. They get reworks pushing them back into relevance. So you could say newer units are stronger, yes, but old units don't get neglected like in most gacha games. Imagine this scenario: I got Noctis EX on december, he was awesome for like 2 months until newer units came, in aproximately 2 months, Noctis will get a rework that will make him awesome for a long while. Ignore the powercreep comments, they're uninformed af, it's quite the opposite, the game balances old units so they're viable again! I only played bits of 3 or 4 FF titles, never finished a single game and I'm enjoying it a lot, I don't know the characters, so I just chase whoever looks cool or plays fun.
